Burgundy
[Contains more than 24% lead Made of crystal glass>]
The appearance of this classic Burgundy glass perhaps promises more than it delivers. Its wide, open rim favors vegetal, oaky components and directs the wine in a broad stream onto the underside and edges of the tongue, where the acid-sensitive taste buds are sited. This tends to emphasize the wine`s acidity as well as its pungent, mineral characteristics. Some would say that only very fruity, full-bodied wines with a high alcohol content (capable of overriding the acidity) are able to achieve true balance in such a glass, but this is to some extent a matter of personal taste. Those who prefer rather more bite to their Burgundy will take great pleasure in drinking from this glass.
