Zinfandel
[Contains more than 24% lead Made of crystal glass]
In 1993 Georg Riedel invited producers of Zinfandels (made from a California regional grape), and proposed the development of a glass expressly for Zinfandel. Wines made from grapes produced in America have distinct characteristics and variety, and he believed that there was a need for a glass that pronounced these subtle points and complexities. Then in joint cooperation with both wine and glass makers they attempted the creation of a Zinfandel glass. However, the conclusion was that they felt the glass developed originally for Chiati Classico best brought out the qualities of Zinfandel. This slender glass accentuates the rich berry and spicy fragrance of the wine while gently interweaving the acidity, tannin and fruit to create the perfect balance of components.
