The son (Maximilian Riedel) of the current president of Riedel (Georg Riedel) was the one to propose the world's first stemless, baseless 'glass tumbler.'
This unique glass fuses the ideas that Riedel has cultivated up until now of shape functioning to bring out the optimum balance all of the individual characteristics of each type of grape with the ease of use of a tumbler.

Not having a stem allows one to put it in the dishwasher, and it makes it easy to take camping or to a barbeque or other outdoor activities, ans more over it is small enough to put in a Japanese cupboard.
You will also be happy to not have to worry about saying,"The stem broke!" when washing these glasses.
More than just wine, one could savor soft drinks, iced tea, herbal tea, green tea, among various other possible uses for this versatile glass.
